Tech Strategy Manager job with Primark

As the Tech Strategy Manager, you will join our Tech Strategy Office and help to drive and communicate our strategy and shape long-term investment plans to ensure we are setting up ourselves to enable Primark ambitions, including international growth plans.
You will have the opportunity wot work with leaders in the business to enable the transformational journey, whilst helping to define the next phases of tech strategy and be our in-house strategic advisor, reporting directly to our Tech Strategy Lead.

What You’ll Do:
In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skill sets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
- Build and iterate technology & data operating model and its parts, e.g., location, and performance, aligned with the macro tech strategy working with the TSO and wider leadership team, complete with business case, and roadmap
- Develop and support in development of strategy as an ongoing concern—be our inhouse thinker and advisor to drive Primark tech & innovation forward and provide business-led, tech-enabled, value-based strategies
- Generate an ongoing strategic pipeline of transformation opportunities, working with key stakeholders across Tech and the Business to prioritise and mobilise any associated projects
- Provide the critical thinking and analysis to breakdown opportunities and challenges to the future performance of the tech function in a quantified manner and take responsibility for identifying viable solutions with associated technology transformation plans
- Oversee a mix of discrete strategic projects and provide ongoing strategic support, including partnering with Organisational Change teams to ensure change adoption is considered and optimised.
- Track and share real-time progress and measure the progress of technology & data performance against agreed outcomes/ themes
- Identify and evaluate key emerging trends, scan for strategic opportunities, and risks, with existing and new partners
What You’ll Bring
Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:
- 6+ years of related experience in strategy consulting and/or similar roles in a leading technology company, or other retail firms. Experience working in the retail sector is a plus.
- A demonstrable understanding of the operating model (with international/global operating model experience is an advantage), IT performance management (e.g., Tech Business Management, IT governance etc.), long-term planning
- An appropriate degree, equivalent qualification, or experience (MBA is a plus)
- Experience leading large-scale workshops, & mobilising multiple stakeholders (including top executives) and balancing multiple demands in a multifaceted fast-paced environment
- Can demonstrate the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders in the business
- Operate in ambiguous and uncertain contexts, and bring in strong problem-solving skills to structure the issue, analyse options and come up with solution options (plus if can show technical skills of using PowerBI / Tableau for visual analysis)
