‘Mr & Ms Entrepreneur 2024’- University level contest hosted by ED forum at St Agnes College

Mangaluru, Apr 22: A University-level ‘Mr and Ms Entrepreneur 2024’ contest was meticulously organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Forum on April 6, at the Avila Hall of the College. The primary objective of this event was to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit among students, foster innovative thinking, and acknowledge individuals with the potential to excel in the dynamic business world.
Gaana Bhat, a renowned actor, model, engineer, entrepreneur, and notably, the Co-Yuva Chair of Young Indians, Mangaluru, graced the inaugural ceremony as the esteemed chief guest. Her impassioned words, drawn from her multifaceted life experiences, resonated deeply with the audience, inspiring them to embrace passion, uniqueness, and innovation in their pursuits. Sr Dr M Venissa A C, the principal, in her presidential address, further encouraged students to challenge themselves to bring out their best.
Nineteen undergraduate and postgraduate students from various colleges and universities across DK and Udupi districts enthusiastically participated in the contest, engaging in all the activities encompassing both intellectual and practical challenges.
The contest comprised four engaging rounds: Mind Games, Innovation Showdown, Resilience Rally, and the Hot Seat, meticulously designed to assess participants’ entrepreneurial skills, creativity, resilience, and business acumen.
The contestants showcased exceptional skills and talents, captivating the audience with their stellar performances. Beyond the competition rounds, the event served as a platform for valuable networking opportunities, enabling students to connect with peers from diverse colleges. These interactions not only enhanced the overall experience but also laid the groundwork for potential future collaborations.
Puneeth Rai, Incubation Manager of AIC Nitte, and RJ Sudeep Shenoy, Head of Indoodle Media contributed as distinguished judges, ensuring the success of the event with their expertise and support.
Alan Denzil from DOC, Manipal University, clinched the title of Entrepreneur 2024, while Sheethal Sharma from St Agnes College secured the coveted title of Entrepreneur 2024. They were honoured with cash prize and a certificate.
The program was meticulously compered by Michelle DSouza, the secretary of the ED Forum, with an invocation song beautifully sung by Sannidhi. Vote of thanks was proposed by Fathima Nashwa.
Saniya Sheikh, Deepth Kiran, Carol Rodrigues, and Moksha efficiently led various rounds of the event, alongside other dedicated volunteers, under the proficient guidance of Dr Devi Prabha Alva, the faculty convenor of the ED Forum.
