Find out when United States retirees get Disability payments in May
The next of the United States Social Security Disability payments will arrive in just a few hours to eligible beneficiaries. But that will not be the only payment sent by the Social Security Administration this May. In addition to that payment, there are three other checks that will be sent before the end of the month.
That’s why it’s important to be aware of all the Social Security Administration’s paydays when it comes to disability checks. If we know on what day the Administration will send out checks, we can easily know on what day we will have the money available. And that is where the May Social Security payment schedule is so important.
May Disability Payment Schedule
In total, the Social Security Administration will send out 6 different checks during the month of May, but not all of those checks are for Disability beneficiaries. Each new check from the Administration is for a specific group of citizens.
These are the payment days for United States Social Security beneficiaries for the month of May and their requirements:
- May 1st. May Supplemental Security Income payment.
- May 3rd. Disability benefit payment for pre-May 1997 retirees.
- May 8th. Payment for post-1997 retirees with birthdays between the 1st and 10th of any month.
- May 15th . Payment for post-1997 retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of any month.
- May 22nd. Payment for post-1997 retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month.
- May 31st. June Supplemental Security Income payment. The Administration sends this payment early because June 1st is a weekend.
With this information we will know on what day Disability retirees can get their May check. But keep in mind that not only disability retirees get these checks. Any other retiree who meets these characteristics will get the benefit.
Still, the days marked on the calendar are the days when the payments are sent out. The Social Security Administration sends the checks on these days, but not all beneficiaries, even those who are eligible, get the benefit on that exact day. The important thing is to have Direct deposit activated, as this collection method ensures that the Disability check arrives on the same day it is mailed.
