Applications are now open for $500 per month in ‘direct financial support’ and you only need to meet two criteria
A NEW guaranteed income program has opened for applications, and there are only three eligibility criteria.
Successful applicants will get $500 a month for one year with no strings attached.

A new guaranteed income pilot has opened for applications in Long Beach, California.
Under the program, named Long Beach Pledge, around 200 families will be given $500 a month for 12 months.
Applications close January 24 and can be made online.
However, there are two eligibility criteria you must meet if you want to apply.

Your household must have dependent children and a gross household income (before taxes) of 100% or less of the federal poverty level.
For a family of four, that is $31, 200.
Secondly, you must reside in one of the following zip codes:
- 90802
- 90804
- 90805
- 90806
- 90810
Successful applicants should receive their first payments in the spring.
Long Beach Pledge has been made possible using funds from the Long Beach Recovery Act, which provides money toward the city’s recovery from the pandemic.
Mayor Rex Richardson said of the guaranteed income program: “We’re giving vulnerable families in our city direct financial support that will help them pay for needs like housing, bills, groceries, and emergencies.
“That can make a big difference in helping folks stay afloat throughout the new year.”

If you are not eligible for the Long Beach Pledge, there may be other guaranteed income programs in your area that you can apply for.
Eligible residents of Harris County, Texas can now submit their applications for $500 a month for 18 months.
Approximately 1,900 families will benefit from the program, which will be distributing $20.5 million.
To apply, there are three eligibility criteria to meet.
In Ann Arbor, Michigan, eligible residents can apply for a monthly payment of $528 for the next two years.
And there are checks of $750 every month going out to mothers in one state.
