Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6’s Galaxy AI features coming to older devices
Samsung just launched the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6. These phones feature the company’s new One UI 6.1.1, which packs many new Galaxy AI features to help you with editing images, translating content, scanning QR codes, solving mathematical problems, and much more, which you can check out in our video below.Summarize in one-click with Galaxy AI
Before Samsung launched these smartphones, we learned that the company would expand some of the new Galaxy AI features of these devices to older Galaxy phones and tablets by releasing the One UI 6.1.1 update to those devices as well. Now we have confirmation on it directly from the brand, as well as the timeline for its release.
The story continues after the video…
One UI 6.1.1 coming to older Galaxy phones by December 2024
During the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung’s Omnichannel Strategy Director of the MX Division for the UK and Ireland, Annika Bizon, said: “We also plan to roll out the new Galaxy AI features we announced today to select Galaxy devices by the end of the year.” In other words, One UI 6.1.1 will come to eligible devices by December 2024.
Furthermore, Samsung’s website says that some of the Galaxy AI features of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 are available on the Galaxy S24 series smartphones. While that isn’t the case, we think that the company is trying to say that those phones are eligible to get the new Galaxy AI features, and they should arrive soon.
Considering that the Galaxy S24 series smartphones have the same chipset as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, all of the new Galaxy AI features of One UI 6.1.1 on the latest foldable phones should arrive on the Galaxy S24 series devices. Older devices, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy S23 series might get select features.
